MIMARU KYOTO NISHINOTOIN TAKATSUJI

Like the other Mimaru hotel locations, staff were very friendly and helpful. They spoke fluent English. The location was a short bus ride away from Kyoto Station. However, it was quite a distance from other JR stations. We liked that it had a few good places to eat close to the hotel and there were convenience stores and 2 supermarkets a short walk away to purchase things to eat inside the room. All the kitchen utensils you need were available in the room.

Great rooms, outstandingly helpful staff... No wonder everyone says this is the place to bring a family. It's nice to have a kitchen with a good-sized fridge to store conbini hauls, hahahaha. The large dining area with comfortable seating was a huge plus. Even our room, just behind the front desk, was very quiet at night. The bath could use an automated tap shutoff, but the rain shower head is an outstanding addition. Just a great place to stay.

Excellent hotel with great hospitality and service. The team of staff were always smiley, super friendly and very very helpful and patient. There was a Taiwanese lady at the reception, who provided us with super clear explanations on directions, offered to help to book restaurants for us, and also arranged for luggage delivery. She speaks really good English and Japanese too. She made us feel very very Welcomed. It was a very very pleasant stay for our family of four definitely! My teenage boys loved the hotel rooms so much with he bunk beds and personal space. So much that we decided to book another Mimaru chain hotel in Tokyo for our next few days of travel and cancelled our original booking with another hotel. We were very impressed by the service (all staff speaks excellent English), the spacious room and the convenience. About 7 mins walk (500m) to Shijo Subway, which easily connects us to other stations ard Kyoto. If we ever visit Kyoto again, this will be our house stay for sure.

We loved the quiet location as Kyoto was really too busy for our liking. It was still walking distance to most things - we ended up walking a mile from Kyoto station as the taxi queue was huge. There were good restaurants (don’t miss the gyoza restaurant round the corner) and cafes very close by plus supermarkets. The staff were really helpful (reception was closed however between 10pm and 7am). The property was well equipped, modern but in the traditional style and very clean and well maintained.

absolutely loved this hotel! best part of kyoto was mimaru! taxi local even commented that we were staying in a good hotel before arriving. very good location and easy to navigate around to popular scenic spots. hotel even provides staff recommendations and itineraries for day 1 and day 2 in kyoto. definitely made use of that. absolutely loved it here! hope to be back!!!
